Our Lodge History
LOL 155 ‘No Surrender’ has a history that predates its reopening in Stockport. According to the Manchester Orange Order’s published account, the lodge was recorded meeting in 1926 at Holy Trinity Mission Hall, Brierley Street, Stalybridge, within Stalybridge District No. 18. Its old warrant was later revived to bring the dormant lodge back into operation. The official reopening took place on 14 January 2012, led by the Grand Master of England, Bro. R. W. Bather, with other Grand Lodge officers attending. The founding Stockport members had previously belonged to Robert Jocelyn (3rd Earl of Roden) Memorial LOL 184 and lived in Stockport or nearby. The aim was to establish a local lodge serving Stockport and North Cheshire. The account describes it as the first Orange lodge to meet in Stockport for at least 90 years. The original founding date of LOL 155 is not established in this account. Source: Manchester Orange Order
